VFW Post 399 invites our community to another unforgettable evening of music and camaraderie at a special Happy Hour Meetup on the Saugatuck River. This event, featuring “Ecoustic Rock Monster” and the smooth sounds of Yacht Rock is on Friday, May 16th from 5 to 8 PM at 465 Riverside Avenue in Westport.

In recognition of steadfast leadership and dedication to veterans and community service, the 105 year old Joseph J. Clinton Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 399 in Westport has been selected as an All-American Post for 2025 by the VFW Department of Connecticut.
The All-American designation is one of the highest honors awarded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a congressionally-chartered organization representing 1.5 million eligible veterans and military service members worldwide. The award recognizes exceptional achievement in advancing core VFW programs and attaining significant membership growth.
This recognition reflects the hard work, commitment, and service of our members who embody the mission of the VFW every day. “We are honored to be among the select Posts nationwide to receive this distinction, said Phil Delgado, VFW Post 399 Quartermaster.”
Our 59th straight monthly Red Cross Blood Drive at the VFW is scheduled for Friday, May 30th between 10am – 4pm. This event is a crucial effort to support our community’s healthcare needs and save lives through blood donations. Blood donations are essential to hospitals and medical facilities, helping patients in critical need of transfusions due to surgeries, accidents, and medical conditions. Your generous contribution can make a significant impact and contribute to the well-being of those in our community. A recent study, published in the American Journal of Epidemiology, found that people who donated blood had a significant lower risk of suffering a heart attack!

Participation is open to all community members who are eligible to donate blood. The process is safe, and precautions will be taken to ensure the health and safety of donors and staff, following all necessary COVID-19 guidelines. Donating blood is a noble and life-saving act.
