Jeb Patton has recorded and toured throughout the United States and abroad as the pianist with the Heath Brothers, Jimmy Heath’s Generations Quintet, the Charles McPherson Quartet, the Sachal Vasandani Quartet, the Dmitry Baevsky Quartet, the Winard Harper Sextet, as well as with his own trio. Jeb has also performed with a variety of luminaries and top ensembles including Percy Heath, Tootie Heath, the Jimmy Heath Big Band, the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni Big Band, the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band, Village Vanguard Big Band, Etta Jones, Jessye Norman, Barbara Cook, Roberta Gambarini, Antonio Hart, Rodney Green, David Wong, Peter and Will Anderson, Jimmy Cobb, Lewis Nash, Billy Drummond, George Coleman, James Moody, Maurice Peress, Coleridge Taylor Perkinson, the Broadway musical, “After Midnight,” and the New York Philomusica to name a few. His arrangements have been performed by the Heath Brothers, Jessye Norman, Emanuel Ax, Lang Lang, The Jimmy Heath Big Band, Sachal Vasandani, The Duke University Big Band, and the UNC Chapel Hill Big Band.

Y’s Men are hosting the 63rd straight monthly VFW Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday September 26th between 10am-3pm.  This event is a crucial effort to support our community’s healthcare needs and save lives through blood donations. Your generous contribution can make a significant impact and contribute to the well-being of those in our community.

Pianist Janice Friedman has joined musical forces with some of the biggest names in Jazz including Joe Lovano, Lew Tabakin, and Billy Higgins. The famous pianist, Marian McPartland, not only had her on “Piano Jazz,” but also had her join her on tour around the country. Janice has recorded with such varied musicians as Milt Hinton, Warren Vache’ and Claudio Roditi. She brings the phrasing of the horns to her playing perhaps because she has been the pianist in so many big bands. She is one of the few women to ever tour extensively with The Woody Herman Orchestra.

Having played in the most famous of concert halls and notable clubs from Carnegie Hall and the JFK Arts Center to the Blue Note, Birdland, Kitano, Smoke, Dizzy’s Jazz Club, Sweet Rhythm and Iridium in NYC, you can safely say she has wowed audiences from coast to coast and on practically every continent on the globe.
