As October marks Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Drum Hill Chapter, VFW Post 399, and the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce will host a free community program, “Cyber Security: Be Prepared,” on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 6 p.m. at VFW Post 399, 465 Riverside Avenue, Westport.

The program will provide residents with practical information and strategies to help protect themselves, their families, and their businesses from today’s growing cybersecurity threats.

Featured topics will include identifying deceptive emails and phishing attempts, password hygiene, threat detection and prevention, and emerging cybersecurity trends, including the impact of artificial intelligence (AI).

The presentation will be led by Sam Disraelly, a proud U.S. Navy veteran with a strong commitment to community service and building professional networks. Sam Disraelly is the founder and CEO of Your Tech Department, LLC, a Fairfield County cybersecurity and IT support firm. The company provides technology support and cybersecurity services to help businesses and individuals navigate an increasingly complex digital environment.

More information about the company is available at https://yourtech.team.

The sponsoring organizations encourage community members to take advantage of this free educational opportunity. Understanding how to recognize suspicious communications, create and maintain strong passwords, and identify potential cyber threats can help reduce the risk of online fraud, identity theft, and other digital security incidents.
