Award-winning jazz guitarist Paul Bollenbackdeveloped a taste for the exotic over the course of a three-year period when his family lived in India. He was 11 years old when the family traveled to New Delhi, and years later the sounds and experiences of that early journey found their way into his first album from Challenge Records, Original Visions. His next release, Double Gemini, continued to stir up a buzz among critics, and it drew honors as CD of the Month from both WBGO, a Newark jazz station, and 20th Century Jazz Magazine. Bollenback remained with Challenge for his next project, Soul Grooves.

In 2011 Paul garnered a Grammy nomination for co-production on Joey DeFrancesco’s Never Can Say Goodbye (Hi Note). His international and national touring schedule currently include appearances with Joey DeFrancesco, Mike LeDonne, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Gary Bartz, and Shunzo Ohno, as well as many appearances with his own trio.

David Kikowski, a highly regarded jazz pianist, Grammy award winner Dave Kikoski emerged in New York jazz scene in 1980s and quickly established himself as a go-to performer working with top players like Roy Haynes, Joe Henderson, Ron Carter, Al Foster, Bob Berg, Michael and Randy Brecker, Chris Potter and many others. In preparation for Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11, members of Westport Scout Troop 39 volunteered their time on Sunday afternoon to assist VFW Post 399 in replacing American flags on the graves of veterans laid to rest at the historic Christ and Holy Trinity Cemetery in Westport.

The project, part of the troop’s ongoing commitment to community service and honoring those who served, ensures that each veteran’s resting place is marked with a fresh American flag in recognition of their sacrifice and service.

Following their work at the cemetery, Troop 39 Scouts and their parents were welcomed at VFW Post 399 for a fun and well-deserved hotdog lunch, where they shared stories and reflected on the meaning of Veterans Day.
