The Veterans and Military Affairs Committee will host a public hearing on Wednesday, November 8th from 1pm-4pm in Room 2C. You can also participate remotely and share testimony online. The purpose of this event is to gather feedback from members of the public regarding veterans affairs in preparation for our upcoming legislative session. Please see the flyer below for any additional questions.
Veterans Day is a time to honor and remember the sacrifices of our veterans. As Veterans Day approaches, communities come together to pay their respects to the men and women who have served in the armed forces.
Calise’s Deli located at 734 Post Road East, is offering free poppies on 11/5-11/8 and 11/10 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The poppy is a powerful symbol of remembrance, and it’s wonderful to see support for this tradition. A special thank you to Nancy Kondub-Harris, VFW Post 399 Auxiliary Poppy Chair, and Nancy Dabinett Mills Austin, Junior Vice-President, for their efforts in preserving this tradition (pictured above).
As Veterans Day approaches, let’s remember to take a moment to honor and thank the veterans who have served their country, and consider wearing a poppy as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance.
