On December 16, 2023 at 12:00 pm (Wreath Placement Immediately Following Ceremony), CT0157P – VFW Post 399 will be helping Assumption Greens Farms Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes.

Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 399, Quartermaster Phil Delgado, provided outstanding support as the guest speaker during the Veterans Day luncheon at the Westport Senior Activities Center on Thursday, November 9th. Recognizing and acknowledging the contributions of veterans in our community is an essential part of honoring veterans!

VFW Post 399 provides support to over 31,000 veterans throughout Fairfield County, the third largest veteran community in Connecticut, which includes over 660 Town of Westport veterans who can access veteran services through Post 399.  We have sustained our community support through partnerships with other community non-profit organizations. Next week Post 399 is hosting our 41st straight monthly Red Cross blood drive.  We are the premiere Red Cross Blood donor site in Fairfield County with over 1800 donors….one Blood unit saves 3 lives!

We are pleased to Announce Michael Bogart and Joe Corsello!

In addition to touring and recording with Tower of Power, Bogart has worked with Aerosmith, Neil Diamond and recorded music for video games based on the Dragon Ball Z cartoon franchise.

However, he always kept a foot in the door with the Navy. He worked with their music program and did recruiting. In 2009 he returned to the Navy.

While there he got to play trumpet for former President Jimmy Carter. Carter is a U.S. Naval Academy alumni, and was attending his class reunion where Bogart was playing.

Afterward, Carter had requested to meet with Bogart to tell him how much he appreciated his playing.
