Throughout the evening, Scout Troop 139 impressively maintained a vigil over the blazing fire pit until all traces of flag remnants were destroyed on Friday, July 14th at VFW Post 399. Conducting a flag retirement ceremony is a very meaningful opportunity to reflect on the meaning of the American flag as a symbol of freedom.
