Westport’s oldest youth organization established in 1948, P.A.L. held a festive Children’s Holiday Party on Sunday, December 8th at VFW Post 399 for over 200 attendees. The luncheon buffet was a children’s favorite that was superbly prepared by Gallo’s Sandbar catering and of course plenty of holiday cookies were available for Santa.

When Dylan Mace’s grandfather passed away he wanted to do something to honor his memory. He was appalled that VFW Post 399 lacked a handicap-accesssible bathroom, so he singlehandedly raised almost $8,000 including an architect, electrician, and contractor. Dylan loved working with the VFW crew so much, he enlisted 12 fellow Staples High School National Honor Society members to help paint “Everyone’s been super kind. It shows how much people actually do care about the veterans. I’m glad we can help them,” Dylan Mace said. Everything looks great, so Dylan wants to get the word out, to make sure everyone in Westport knows about it. You don’t have to be a veteran to go!
