The VFW Post 399 Blood Drive held on Monday, January 13th was a huge success. The American Red Cross was happy with our high number donor turnout. We actually turned people away due to long waiting time throughout the day. Here’s the Red Cross feedback:

“OMG you did absolutely amazing….31 productive, on a goal of 15! I know it was the Hot Dogs!!! I hope you will consider running on more of a routine basis…is there any way I can offer you more dates?

39 Registered

-7 Deferrals

-1 QNS (quantity not sufficient)

After the lab separates the platelets, plasma & red cells you provided 93 productive units for patients!!! Thank you ever so much. What a blessing you are to our area hospitals & patients.”

Again, thank you all for making the VFW Post 399 Blood Drive a success!

The Sandbar Restaurant’s Quarterback Club hosted an extraordinary 5-star end of season event on Sunday, January 12th. The buffet event offered an impressive table of hor devours, open bar and a fabulous buffet with roast pork, roast beef, ham and your choice of sides. Every room on the main floor was busy with guests eating, drinking and enjoying NFL end of season football stories. A special thanks to The Gallo Group!

Joseph lives in Westport, driving past the VFW Post 399 on Riverside Ave almost daily and also knows his grandfather was in Vietnam during the war. Although Joseph is 14 years old, he began developing his computer skills at a young age so when he was unable to locate the VFW Post 399 website he decided to offer his computer skills to develop a website.

As our website developer savant, Joe has put his many years of programming experience to good use by donating his spare time between his Staples High School studies to help the veteran community. Joe always goes the extra mile in working to design, code, maintain and exceed our website expectations every time! VFW Post 399 is extremely grateful and wants to take this opportunity to commend him for all his hard work in support of the local veteran community!
