Memorial Day weekend Flag-placing ceremony is a tradition for the Scouts, where the young Scouts say it’s a chance to respect and honor the veterans.  Westport Scout Troops 39 and 139 honored our veterans on Saturday May 27th who served our country.  The Troops visited town cemeteries placing flags at the gravesites of those who served and those who died during their service. To all our veterans who have passed and those who died defending our freedoms Troops 39 and 139 salute you!  Scouts covered Greens Farm Church cemetery, the Historical cemetery at Sherwood Island Connector, Assumption on Greens Farm Road, Christ & Holy Trinity on Old Road and Willowbrook.

A special thanks to Army Aviation Publications, Ace Hardware and Carlyn Paint & Hardware for the gracious donation of over 100 dozen grave flags.
