The Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) Tax Credit Program selected VFW Post 399 as a recipient for a corporate business tax credit benefitting businesses that make cash contributions to the organization.     The NAA grant offers tax credits to businesses who make contributions to nonprofit organizations that benefit the community.  Earlier this year, Westport nonprofits were invited to submit grant applications  to the Town of Westport with programs they feel fit the definition of “neighborhoods assistance”.  With Town of Westport support, the application for VFW Post 399 roof replacement/energy conservation was sent to the State for NAA tax credit consideration.
Businesses donating between $250 and $80,000 to VFW Post 399 will now receive a 100 percent tax credit and the donation itself is tax-deductible!  The VFW is the gold standard for veteran and community service throughout the region.  We always solicit new ideas and approaches to better manage our limited assets. The other Town of Westport non profit winner is the Westport Country Playhouse.
