On Saturday, December 16th the Westport community came together to commemorate National Wreaths Across America Day at the Assumption Greens Farms Cemetery.  Led by VFW Post 399 Auxiliary, Westport Scouts Troops 39 and 139, a heartfelt tribute was paid to honor and remember the sacrifices of our nation’s veterans.
The dedicated team from VFW Post 399, along with volunteers from various groups, assembled at noon to partake in the solemn tradition of laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of fallen heroes. This act of remembrance symbolizes the gratitude and respect for those who served and safeguarded our freedoms.
“We are deeply honored to have had the opportunity to participate in this meaningful event, paying tribute to our courageous veterans,” remarked Phil Delgado, VFW Post 399 Quartermaster. “It’s through such gestures of remembrance that we ensure the legacy and sacrifices of our heroes”
Special thanks goes to VFW Post 399 Auxiliary and the many volunteers whose unwavering dedication and leadership rallied the support, ensuring a fitting tribute to the fallen heroes of our nation.  The event served as a reminder of the importance of honoring the bravery and service of our veterans, fostering unity and gratitude within the community.
