For the past 102 years, the Joseph J. Clinton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 399 honored the brave service members who gave their lives for our great country on Memorial Day. Hundreds of veterans, VFW Post 399 honor guard and VFW Auxiliary float were on hand in support of the annual Town of Westport Memorial Day parade.

After the parade, Tom Dubrosky, VFW Post 399, proudly presided over the Memorial Day Services and wreath laying ceremony held on Veteran’s Green across the street from the Town Hall. Everyone was invited to VFW Post 399 for lunch hosted by Angelina’s Trattoria, traditional Bagpiper selection by Art Began, Staples High School students Joseph and Michael Rossi and a special happy hour hosted by Catch A Lift. In addition, we raised a glass and toast for Senior Chief Petty Officer Allan Chavez, who we lost a few months ago.

Our VFW Post 399 Auxiliary impressively built a float to honor our veterans on Memorial Day. A.J. Penna and Son provided the truck, trailer and a driver for the parade float! We can’t do it all, can’t do it alone and can’t do it without your help. Again, we appreciate your support to the brave men and women who have served our country!
