Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Meeting

On Tuesday, November 12th was a Special Military Appreciation Chamber of Commerce Morning Network Breakfast held at the VFW. When Dylan Mace’s grandfather passed away he wanted to do something to honor his memory. He was appalled that VFW Post 399 lacked a handicap-accesssible bathroom, so he singlehandedly raised almost $8,000 including an architect, electrician, and contractor. The VFW Department of Connecticut, District 1 Quarterly Meeting was hosted by VFW Post 399 in Westport on Saturday, 16 November 2019. After opening ceremonies, roll call, and reading of the minutes, the committee reports were discussed to ensure the members were fully informed of District 1 business initiatives.

Starting in the month of November 2019, the Westport Fire Department will be wearing and selling RED shirts to show solidarity and support for our deployed service members every Friday until each one has returned home to their families. Since millions of people use Yelp to search for businesses every day, an up-to-date business page makes it easy for them to connect with Post 399. The updated profile helps the VFW to advertise boat slip availability, restaurant, bar, room rentals, website and operating hours.
